DanganRonpa The Animation (Review)

(Has Spoiler-Content)

Synopsis :

Hope Peak's Academy is an elite school that accepts only the most talented students. Individuals who successfully enroll receive their own unique titles, reflective of their skills. Of the fifteen candidates admitted to the school that year, Makoto Naegi is a completely ordinary Individual who has accepted by luck, with the title as "Ultimate Lucky Student"

Naegi and his fellow classmates are initially ecstatic to be chosen to study at the prestigious school, but these feelings of happiness are short-lived. They are soon to be confronted by Monokuma, school principal and bear, who traps them inside the school, and the only way to escape the school is to successfully murder their classmates without being caught, however if he the perpetrator is proven guilty, he/she will be executed and the deathmatch continues until a single survivor remains.

The Anime had it's work cutout for it cause it is common for a videogame adapted into an Anime, it always never become as successful as the game itself, for me it  did a good job on adapting it.

I liked the class trial concept, It's the best part of the anime, the class debunking the murders, autopsies and the possibilities, and all that stuff, I thought that was great and entertaining.

Everyone has their own stories, background and Monokuma used them as motives to have some of them  rendered  desperate enough to slaughter their fellow classmates.

The plot twist at the final episodes is sure to surprise you and I recommend watching this anime in one go to have a fresh memory on the events leading up to it

I liked the OST, especially the ED

The Animation was really good, the character design was well done, and this anime will not be a waste of your time.

Score 8.5/10
